I grew up camping in Colorado and as result I realize how important it is to keep the peoples land open to the people, whether this means fighting the Federal Government or just keeping vigilant at the state level. At time the government seems to forget they are just the stewards for the people. It will be my job to ensure that the government serves the people and not the people serving the government. The government should only be the size that is necessary to do its job.

Everyone talks about our struggling infrastructure yet in the last 20 years while the state budget has increased one billion dollars a year, the allocation for roads and bridges has hardly increased at all. There are currently 7 bridges in House District 24 with major issues. There needs to be funding support. If we don't quit robbing from roads and bridges every time someone wants money elsewhere, we will not be prepared for the future. Colorado's growth is not slowing its pace - we need to be prepared.

I am a firm believer in the Constitution and all it stands for.

I am against abortion. I am also against recriminalizing it.

If the citizens pass a referendum by an overwhelming majority their elected officials should work to defend it and not just bow to those that want to fight it. As an example the citizens of Wheat Ridge passed an issue against TIFs (tax increment financing). Then a party that would have benefited greatly filed suit. The elected officials voted to not fight the lawsuit and the opposition to the TIF now benefits.
